The agreement, in plain English

These terms are the rules of using Veta. If you create an account, you're agreeing to them.

We've tried to write them clearly, without hiding anything important in footnotes.

02

Your account

You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. There's no separate Veta password to lose.

Keep your account secure. Use a password manager for your Apple or Google credentials, and a passcode on the device you use Veta on.

If you think someone got into your account, write to us through our contact form and pick "Security" as the topic.

One account per person, please. Households share access through co-parent invites inside the app.

03

Eligibility

You need to be 16 or older to use Veta. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian needs to help you set things up.

If we discover an account was created by anyone under 16, we'll close it.

04

How you can use Veta

For your own pets, and for pets in your care: foster, co-parent, sitter, vet tech in a private practice.

What you agree not to do: reverse-engineer the app, abuse the infrastructure, share another person's records without their permission, scrape or republish anything from Veta, or use the app to harass anyone.

We can suspend accounts that violate these rules. We'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond before anything is final.

05

What Veta is, and isn't

Veta is a pet-health record and decision-support tool. It is NOT a substitute for a veterinarian.

AI triage answers are informational. For anything urgent (bleeding, seizures, collapse, difficulty breathing, suspected poisoning) call your vet or the nearest emergency clinic immediately, before you open the app.

We label severity on every AI response. When we're uncertain, we err on the side of "call your vet."

06

Your content

You own every record, photo, note, and observation you add to Veta. It's your pet's story.

You grant us a limited, revocable license to store and display your content back to you (and to anyone you share with), and to process it through our AI providers under zero-retention agreements so we can generate the summaries and triage answers you've asked for.

We do NOT use your content to train public AI models. We do NOT sell your content to third parties. Ever.

07

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store (StoreKit) on iPhone and Google Play (Play Billing) on Android. The platforms handle billing, charging, refunds, and cancellation. We never see your card number.

You can cancel anytime in your iPhone or Android subscription settings, or from inside Veta's settings (which routes you to the platform).

Refunds for App Store and Play purchases follow Apple's and Google's policies. For monthly plans, refunds are usually pro-rated only as the platforms allow.

Auto-renew is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in your platform subscription settings.

Price changes follow each platform's rules. Apple, for example, requires you to opt in before any meaningful price increase takes effect, and gives notice before charging.

08

App Store and platform terms

Every iOS app falls under Apple's standard rules in addition to ours. The three documents that matter for Veta on iPhone:

Apple's standard EULA at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. This is the default end-user license that applies to every App Store app, including Veta. It covers the scope of your license to use the app and the basic warranty disclaimers Apple sets.

Apple Media Services Terms at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/us/terms.html. The longer document that covers App Store purchases, EU consumer rights (the 14-day cancellation window for digital purchases is administered by Apple, not us), and Section O, which contains the standard EULA text.

Apple's Digital Services Act portal at apple.com/legal/dsa/. For users in the EU who want to understand Apple's obligations as the platform operator under the DSA.

Veta doesn't control Apple's platform behavior, but we cooperate with valid legal requests and platform policies.

09

Termination

You can delete your account anytime from settings. Everything is purged within 30 days. Our privacy policy explains exactly what gets deleted and when.

We can terminate accounts that violate these terms, don't pay, or have been dormant for 24 months. We'll always email you first and give you a chance to export your data before anything is removed.

10

Limits of our liability

Veta is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it available and accurate, but we can't guarantee perfection.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you've paid us in the prior 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, fraud, or anything that can't be waived under applicable law.

11

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.

Disputes go to the courts of New York County, NY, unless you're in a jurisdiction (such as a country in the EU or the UK) that guarantees you local courts and consumer-law protections. In that case, those apply.

12

Changes to these terms

We'll email you at least 30 days before any material change. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.

13

Contact us

Legal questions: write to us through our contact form and pick "Legal" as the topic.

Questions?

We'd rather answer in advance than have anyone guess. Send a note via our contact form and pick ‘Legal’ as the topic — a real person responds, typically within three business days.
